The Gift that Keeps On Giving.  IF you want to make sure that your helping out a friend, think about how busy they are, do they make time for themselves?
DO they do a lot of physical work, and or do they not move around enough they, are basically chained to a desk, or an assembly line? Do they massage others but never go for a massage themselves? (nudge nudge wink wink) 
That is when giving them a surprise spa day will encourage them to go do something for themselves.  It is the BEST gift, that they tend not to go buy for themselves.  It does not have to be on their birthday or mothers day or fathers day etc, just surprise them and watch them almost relax immediately, and that BIG smile comes across their face.
NOW is that not worth giving a gift that keeps on giving <3.
